Oncentra 4.3

Oncentra is Nucletron’s radiation treatment planning software suite, best known for its image‑guided brachytherapy planning capabilities and, in earlier releases, external beam planning. Now part of Elekta’s portfolio, it supports end‑to‑end clinical workflows for a wide range of brachytherapy indications in hospitals and cancer centers.

Key capabilities:

• 3D, image-based planning using CT, MR, or ultrasound with advanced visualization and contouring
• Comprehensive applicator and catheter modeling, reconstruction, and placement tools
• Dose calculation engines aligned with common standards (such as TG‑43), with optional model‑based algorithms that account for tissue and applicator heterogeneities (per TG‑186 practices)
• Optimization tools, including DVH‑driven objectives and graphical dwell‑time editing, to help achieve clinical dose goals
• Plan evaluation with isodose displays, dose–volume metrics, and configurable reports
• DICOM interoperability for imaging, plan exchange, and record‑and‑verify connectivity, as well as integration with Nucletron/Elekta afterloaders (for example, microSelectron HDR)
• Support for common clinical sites, including gynecologic, prostate, breast, and head and neck

Oncentra is designed for use by radiation oncologists, medical physicists, and dosimetrists, helping teams streamline brachytherapy planning while maintaining consistency, traceability, and compliance with clinical standards.
